Revolutionary Lemonade Stand Returning Amaranth (2)

Returning Amaranth (2)

$120.00
Sold Out

Returning Amaranth print , linocut reduction technique with an edition of 8. 12 inches x 18 inch on archival paper signed and editioned

How great that it worked out to finish this print today just in time to kick off 2024 with this second print in my Returning Amaranth series !!!! I’ve come to learn more about New Mexico and also about food justice issues in native indigenous communities. Amaranth has been cultivated in the Americas for over 6000 years .it was outlawed by the Spanish conquistadors and much violence was done to try and stop this strong nutritional and spiritual relationship indigenous people had with this plant. This print is the second one that I’ve done inspired by the Flowering Tree Permaculture Institute on the Santa Clara Pueblo and their efforts to seed bank and rematriate the amazing plant. https://www.floweringtreepermaculture.org/projects #floweringtreepermacultureinstitute #roxanneswentzell #revolutionarylemonadestand #amaranth #seedbank #foodjustice #remarqueprintworkshop #printmaking #linocut #reductionprint #albuquerque
