This hand carved print is based on the Empire Zinc Strike in 1950 in New Mexico. Many people know of this historic strike where the women continued on with the 15 month picket line when the men were no longer able to due to an injunction. This specific moment was portrayed in the movie Salt of the Earth and also on actual historic photos.
