This print is based on the founding meeting of the National Miner’s Union Strike in 1933 in Gallup, New Mexico. Martial Law was declared , so any gatherings of three or more people were against the law. This print is about the first meeting to call for the strike where the strikers and their families needed to drive and also walk 22 miles across state lines to Arizona in order to have the meeting in the Red Rock Caverns !!
